We who feel the pain of the death of others and will always feel fear what might happen after our death .as a true story , as an entertaining story for children and as a fierce satire , directed human society . The book is about a traveler who , while facing shipwreck and other calamities , grappling with several different human societies . At first glance it looks like a picaresque story . However Jonathan Swift wrote a book aiming to " enrage the reader and not to amuse " ( Helmswood 32 ) .
A reader of today 's " Gulliver's Travels to " may wonder how these stories and
characters in those days were taken as true . However , when the book was published for the first time , Suiftit name was not put on the cover due to the satirical content of the book . In the original read: " Travels in remote places of the world , by Lemuel GULIVER " ( Fairely 59 ) .
